The train departs 3 times in 24 hours. Intercounty depart at 8am from Mombasa and arrives Nairobi at 2:10pm. The same train makes a 3 minute stop at Voi, Mtito Andei, Mariakani,maiseny,Kibwezi,Emali and Athi river before arriving in Nairobi.

The Express depart at 3pm  and arrives Nairobi at 8:18pm. This train makes a 3 minutes stop at Voi station then rails to Nairobi. The Express night train deaprts Mombasa at 10pm and arrives Nairobi at 3:35am . This night train does not have a stop over.
