Kenya Immerse yourself
in a Kenyan safari as you traverse some of the best parks and game sanctuaries
this country has to offer. You will enjoy amazing landscapes, cultures
and wildlife. This tour covers Amboseli and its Mt. Kilimanjaro backdrop,
the chimpanzees at Sweetwaters, the flamingos at Lake Nakuru and Lake
Naivasha, and finally, the remarkable Maasai Mara. During your time here
you will see the famed ‘Big Five’ and so much more! Upon arrival at Nairobi Airport you will be transferred to Amboseli National Park, an approximately four-hour journey that will cover 250km. After lunch you will enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park, enjoying views of the magnificent, snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro on the horizon. You will get to see the largest herds of elephants in Kenya as well as plains game, lions and cheetahs. Main destination:
Amboseli National Park Day 2: Amboseli National Park You will have an early breakfast followed by a game drive and a picnic lunch in the bush. Amboseli is big game country, and you are likely to see lion, cheetah, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and giraffe. Mt. Kilimanjaro once again provides a majestic background. At sunset you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. Main destination:
Amboseli National Park Day 3: Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Sweetwaters Eat an early breakfast and then proceed to the Earth’s equator, which is located in the Mt. Kenya region. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and visit the Sweetwaters Conservancy for chimpanzees. This is the only place in Kenya for the rehabilitation of these widely abused chimpanzees, with two groups living in an environment that mirrors their natural habitat as much as possible. This site is also a dedicated black rhino breeding area. Main destination:
Sweetwaters Day 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy You will have a full day at Sweetwaters with morning and afternoon game drives. This provides you with ample time to explore this sanctuary as you marvel at the magnificent sight of the snow-capped Mt. Kenya peaks in the background. Game drives at Sweetwaters are indeed a pleasure. There also also optional activities such as game walks accompanied by a resident naturalist, game rides on horseback, camel rides, or nighttime game drives. These activities are available for an extra fee. The Sweetwaters Chimapanzee Sanctuary is incorporated within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and is the only place in Kenya where this highly endangered and remarkably intelligent species can be seen. Main destination:
Ol Pejeta Conservancy Day 5: Ol Pejeta Conservancy -Lake Nakuru National Park Enjoy an early breakfast and then depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, with a stop at Nyahururu Falls along the way. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge and then go on a full afternoon game, followed by dinner and your overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge. Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and the over 400 other species of birds to found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the Rift Valley. The sight of hundreds of thousands or even millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears to be ringed in pink. The lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species, particularly the Rothschild giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lion, waterbuck, buffalo and baboon are also residents here. Main destination:
Lake Nakuru National Park Day 6: Lake Nakuru - Lake Naivasha - Crescent Island Go on an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru before breakfast, after which you will proceed on a short drive to Lake Naivasha. After lunch you will go on a boat cruise to see the snorting hippos and then take a nature walk on Crescent Island. This is excellent way to see wild animals (herbivores)! The island is a private game sanctuary, that is home to zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, Vervet monkeys, hares, Genet, waterbuck and giraffe. Main destination:
Lake Naivasha Day 7: Lake Naivasha - Maasai Mara Game Reserve We will depart the lodge shortly after breakfast and proceed to Maasai Mara Game Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. You will go on a game drive in the afternoon before returning to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to comprehend. Over 450 species of animals have been recorded here! You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, elephants and many kinds of antelopes. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Main destination:
